Aarons' tips to help make your day perfect.
* Make sure you own the photographs, not your photographer. The Copyrights to your photos should be yours.
In the past your photographer would have to physically either store, develop in their own dark room, print or arrange with a developing company to print each and every image... they would therefore charge accordingly for their time and effort. They owned the Copyrights so they could make money off of those reprints to cover the storage, printing and time involved.
With new technology and the invention of Facebook and the ease of printing, storage and online album options there is no reason why your photographer should keep the Copyrights to your photos.
In 2011 the only reason why a photographer will expect you to sign away your Copyrights to him/her is to extort extra money over and above the original price quoted.
If the photographer owns the rights to your photos they can then use them how they see fit.

* Be sure to know the complete cost from the beginning.
This tip goes part and parcel with the above Copyright issue. There is little point paying money for your photographer to photograph your wedding and then be expected to pay extra to be able to use them unless you have an endless supply of funds and aren't worried about the use of your photos in the future.

* Have a clear idea of what images you want to achieve.
Be sure to collect a scrapbook of ideas from magazines and websites of images you have seen and love, put them together and discuss with Aaron your ideas. He will be able to help with timing and lighting with the venue, top spots close for photo opportunities and if the images you have chosen are possible in the location of your wedding venue.
